Our task was to design and integrate an audio playback system for the Main Entrance Plaza at Tokyo DisneySea. The plaza features an iconic fountain that sets the tone for the guest experience throughout the park. A custom soundtrack for the plaza was composed by the Japanese composer Tomita.
To create a surround sound audio experience for such a wide venue required a synchronized multitrack playback system feeding 22.1 audio channel matrix. Special care had to be used in the design and layout of the system to maximize the guest experience and impact while minimizing audio interference with adjacent ticket booths and guest services areas.
All audio playback was synchronized with fountain control and lighting systems. Time of day scheduling systems triggered different programs for daytime and nighttime. In addition to design and integration, we provided systems calibration, mixing, and operational certification for owners, operators, and the composer.
