AVC Systems Designers report to the Principal of AVC Systems Design, and do the following:
Interface with Client/Customer to understand project needs and requirements:
• Build collaborative relationships with clients/stakeholders.
• Lead Client meetings.
Act as Project Lead, managing tasks and directing team members to achieve project goals:
• Work with Project Manager to develop project budgets & schedules.
• Responsible for documentation packages and project delivery, which includes responsibility for meeting budget and schedule targets.
• Track scope, understand when client requests are beyond original scope.
• Coordinate with management on change order preparation.
• Assigning (and/or coordinating assignment of) tasks to project team(s).
• Manage communications regarding scope and schedule with the client’s team.
• Provide regular updates to management.
• Lead design reviews/after action reviews and identify areas for improvement.
Audio, Video and Control Systems design, based on understanding of customer input:
• Create or supervise creation of designs elements: audio coverage maps, video projection maps, control systems design requirements.
• Create or supervise creation of engineering documentation such as wiring documents, block diagrams, location and mounting plans, equipment schedules (incl. size, weight, electrical reqs., HVAC reqs.), theory of operations, operations and maintenance manuals.
• Create/Review technical documentation for assembly, use, maintenance, and disposal of electronic systems.
• Document/Review design requirements and suggested tolerances and evaluate materials and parts.
• Design/Document/Review electronic systems like circuits, displays and sensors.
• Manage project engineering tasks from conception to completion (work with Engineers and Project Manager).
• Manage project production tasks and interface/coordinate with other staff (purchasing, production) as required.
• Contribute to development of company design and documentation standards.
• Identify and Implement process improvements.
• Ongoing identification and evaluation of new technologies and products.
• Training and mentoring junior engineering and/or design staff.
Act as field installation and integration team leader:
• Perform/supervise performance of mission critical field installation tasks:
• Supervise/Direct installers
• Occasional installation of equipment as required
• Equipment configuration as required
• Equipment Test and Adjust; Troubleshoot installation issues as required
• Speaker, Projector, Display calibration
• Show Control Programming
• User Interface development
• Media Installation support
• DSP File development
• Act as Lead interface with client/customer/stakeholders.
Contribute to client warranty & technical support efforts:
• Act as subject matter expert for installed projects, providing guidance and information to technical support staff.
• Answer and respond to warranty and technical support inquiries, as required.

The pay range for this role is $70,000-$100,000 Annually DOE, plus benefits.
