A native of Austin, TX, Associate Engineer Eric Heep embodies the creativity, innovation, and artistry for which his hometown is known. As an artist and frequent performer in LA, Eric often presents work that involves creative coding and novel ways to utilize antiquated technology.

At TechMDinc. his work bridges the gap between immersive experience and customized technology. For example, Eric programmed a stand-alone panning application for the Samuel Oschin Planetariam inside of the Griffith Park Observatory. His solution delivers a two-dimensional sound experience throughout twenty-eight speakers to create a sensation of movement and action along the domed ceiling of the planetarium.

He also designed and 3D printed custom projector masks for the Museum of The Bible. This bespoke solution cuts down the visual noise introduced by projector black and replaces the overcomplicated plywood mounts of the past.

Eric’s creativity, technical knowledge and curiosity have been invaluable contributions to the TechMDinc team.
