A natural curiosity, a predisposition for immersive experiences, and a “good ear” took Senior Associate Engineer Matt D. Reyes on an unusual journey to TechMDinc.
In his teens, Matt toured the nation as a bassist/vocalist with countless pop and rock bands before transitioning into a career as a sound engineer/mixer. Eventually, he became a sound designer for film and TV. While continuing to refine his skills at CBS Television, Matt worked freelance on commercials, feature films, and numerous projects for networks such as HBO, MTV, Style, Oxygen and Teen Nick.
Over time, he discovered that the emotion of sound was the real draw for him. “Feeling” sound in a way that makes you believe you’re in the room with the pianist, hearing the weight of the hammers striking the strings and the subtle shift in the musician’s posture on the piano bench can create a visceral experience that is nearly impossible to emulate.
Today, Matt combines his engineering and musical backgrounds to craft unparalleled attractions with TechMDinc. He has contributed immensely to projects including Tokyo Disney, Griffith Observatory, Museum of the Bible, and AON Center Observatory. In each case, Matt applies his unique set of skills to understand the “life” of a space, troubleshoot technical issues, and deliver solutions that create exciting, immersive experiences.
