In collaboration with THG, TechMDinc partnered with Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) to bring the Epcot Experience Center to life—a dynamic, immersive space designed to build excitement for the future of Epcot.
WDI’s goal was to create a visually and audibly stunning attraction that would not only surprise and delight guests but also inspire a deep emotional connection to the park’s transformation. The experience centered around an elaborate projection-mapped miniature model of Epcot, enveloping guests in a 360-degree spectacle of light, sound, and storytelling.
TechMDinc played a crucial role in the project, designing the audio and video systems, while also assisting with hardware and software solutions to ensure a seamless, immersive experience. The Epcot Experience Center set a new standard for how theme parks communicate their future vision to guests.

One of TechMDinc’s biggest challenges on the Epcot Experience Center project was the tight installation schedule. With multiple vendors working simultaneously—handling lighting, projector installation, model setup, media integration, and more—careful coordination was essential. Limited access windows for our programming team added another layer of complexity, requiring meticulous planning and execution.
Another major challenge was the projection mapping of the intricate Epcot model. Covering the model required 21 projectors, some dedicated to illuminating tight, detailed spaces, while nine additional projectors mapped dynamic content onto the surrounding walls. Keeping all 30 projectors perfectly aligned at all times was critical. Without precise calibration, the team would have to manually realign each unit—a time-consuming and demanding task.
Through expert planning, precise execution, and innovative problem-solving, TechMDinc overcame these challenges to deliver a seamless, breathtaking experience that met Disney’s high standards for immersive storytelling and technological excellence.
To tackle the installation schedule challenges, TechMDinc worked closely with THG and other vendors to collaborate and coordinate schedules, ensuring each team had the time and space needed to complete their work efficiently. By remaining flexible and adapting to shifting timelines, we helped create a workflow that benefited all teams while keeping the project on track.
For the complex projection mapping setup, TechMDinc implemented a camera-based auto-calibration system to ensure that all 30 projectors remained perfectly aligned. This technology eliminated the need for frequent manual realignment, saving valuable time and maintaining the seamless, high-quality visuals essential to the immersive experience.
Through strategic coordination and innovative technology, TechMDinc delivered a stunning, precisely mapped experience that met Disney’s exacting standards while overcoming the logistical and technical challenges of the project.
The Epcot Experience Center set new standards in projection mapping precision, with pixel sizes as small as 0.25mm. This extreme level of detail ensured crisp, seamless visuals across the model, even as guests stood within three feet of the display. Maintaining pixel uniformity while preventing shadows was a complex challenge—one that TechMDinc overcame through expert calibration and system design.
Another groundbreaking innovation was the dynamic, modular programming of the show. We developed a system where vignettes could be added or removed at the click of a button, allowing Disney to seamlessly update content as new attractions opened. This digitally modular approach ensured the show remained fresh and relevant without requiring extensive reprogramming—offering long-term flexibility and adaptability.
By combining technical precision with forward-thinking design, TechMDinc helped create an immersive, future-proof experience that could evolve alongside Epcot itself.
